RIM Aquired Viigo (my favorite RSS blackberry reader)
What’s special about this program is that it can add rss feeds to read from the internet (on your desktop or laptop) and then walk down the street and read them remotely… add feeds without touching your blackbery… wonder why RIM bought the company and what they plan to do with it….’
Pocketberry showcases cops lights and sirens Bberry App
Sheah you can sure get into a lot of trouble with this one, dun even wanna go there….
Toy With Me launches blackberry 9700 vibrator app…
Don’t worry, the article is SFW (Safe for Work Viewing) but it’s just news right, interesting none-the-less.

Eminence – The Best Bold 9700 Theme
Written by sonic on January 19, 2010 – 4:41 pm -
This theme at Mobihand is arguably one of the best themes available for the Bold 9700 (and of course a ton of other phones supported by it). And no, I’m not saying that just because I’ve gotten to know the creators of it, although I doubt I would have tried it or stumbled across it had I not met them in A BBM conversation.
What’s special isn’t just the looks that you see in the screencaps I’ve decided to post here on my blog… That’s really nothing. What’s wild and outstanding is the menu animations, the transitions and the transparency that make you feel like you’ve got a next generation blackberry in your hands. I can show you these screenshots all day long, but at the end of the day they won’t say much to you like installing it will.
So, I encouage you to download and try this thing.. I betcha that MobiHand (Aka Onlyblackberry) has a great refund program if you find you don’t agree with me (which I strongly doubt will happen) but what you’ll see when you start playing with this will blow your mind.
There are all kinds of little peculiar reasons you’ll love transparency… One classic example is when setting your alarm before you go to bed, or for a quick nap, don’t you often wonder… Wait… What time is it right now tho? How much sleep am I gonna get, when do i wanna wake up etc… Transparency lets you set your clock while still seeing the clock behind it. Transparency lets you have calendar updates that don’t annoyingly block what your doing. It’s weird to say, but Transparency on your Bold 9700 could change the way you think and use your phone. (strange? yep!)

I’ve run this theme now for about a month since when it went Beta and now is actually available for purchase, and I honestly love that it’s guaranteed to not slow down your blackberry. Speed is way more important than some junk fireplace glowing on your screen.. Ya, those impress your friends for a little while, but a real man values performance over looks.

Will the Bold 9700 Get stomped by the Tour 9650?
Written by sonic on January 18, 2010 – 11:53 pm -The big question on a ton of bloggers minds! I know it’s bugging me, fact is I wanted badly to know the answer and a few seconds ago it just hit me in the face like a ton of bricks!
No way!!!
What’s the Essex (Tour 2) 9650 device made of anyway? Apparently it’s really more of a mistake being repaired… The gyst was that due to timing they couldnt’ make the original Tour with a trackpad and Wifi just due to trying to quickly get the thing on the market… Now the Essex Tour 2 9650 does come with these features…
But what’s under the hood, you ask?
A Qualcomm 528Mhz Processor… Same as the original Tour.. Meaning that The Bold 9700 is still nearly 100Mhz faster than the Tour and Tour 2 models giving it more power and speed to run OS 5.0 applications.
It does have the same 3.1 megapixel camera as the Bold 2 (9700) and many other features are notably the same except of course size and asthetic design. The Essex has a bit more chrome going on than the Blackberry Bold 2 9700 packs.
The big question that will drive the dividing line between folks that keep the 9700 and those that don’t will probably be OpenGL support, and it’s still questionable whether this one will have the feature or not.
I think the Tour2 Will support OpenGL… It’s running the same CPU core as the Curve 8530 (which apparently should have OpenGL) and a very similar platform… Only time and new info will tell.

Blackberry Wireless Presenter Caught On Video
Written by admin on January 13, 2010 – 5:37 pm -Thanks to Crackberry, the Blackberry Presenter was completely demoed at CES 2010 and on display for all to see. Seriously check it out, it’s actually a really neat video. The interesting thing is that each presenter has a unique ID so you could actually run several at once. Shows all the animations it’s capable of and more.

Writing an ebook on a Bold 9700 or Bold 9000
Written by sonic on January 12, 2010 – 7:04 pm -Any new years resolutions for 2010?
Perhaps one was to write an ebook? I have the killer app you should consider owning that won’t cost the price of a 300 word article but could save you all the time in the world…
What if you could utilize that 5 minutes in the car waiting for someone or that 15 minute walk to create an ebook and sell it online? But typing on a bberry aint your thing right?
After buying a voice recorder, and forgetting it at home. After buying a laptop, an organizer and a palm pilot… perhaps even a netbook… this concept could be your 2010 life saver!
Dictate to your email until you save up enough emails to convert it to a word document!

Bejeweled for the Bold 9700
Written by sonic on January 11, 2010 – 11:11 pm -
Easily argued as one of the best games to play with a trackpad.. Bejeweled gives some kind of strange and sickly twisted rush when casually flicking the track pad from right to left as you complete a series of 3 shapes. Not only does it flow so nice and sweetly, but it’s a great way to pass the time and won’t leave you frustrated and upset at yourself due to the lack of control that a non-trackball device can sometimes leave you.
I genuinely believe that Bejeweled may very well be the best Bold 9700 game on the market at the moment. It’s one of the few worth paying for. The arcade modes, the advanced levels and the graphics even look better on the Bold 9700 version than on the iPhone version. (iPhone version pictured to the right..).
Download Bejeweled for the Bold 9700 Today!
They have the OTA option there too via SMS to most carriers.

Share Blackberry Internet With Your Laptop – 50% Off
Written by admin on January 8, 2010 – 4:07 pm -
Probably one of the most useful pieces of software available for the Blackberry Smartphone today is the Tetherberry software… Which this week got re-branded to just “tether” due to it’s arrival in the Blackberry App World store.
There’s all kinds of controversy over this app, because apps similar to it aren’t allowed in the Apple store and I imagine the Droid app store has the same song and dance… Whatever the case may be, it’s on at 50% off from now until January 10th, 2010. You really should take advantage of this… Because $24.98 for a $50 program is a good deal – and it was even too rich for my blood until they announced this…
What’s is “tethering” anyway?
Tethering is where you connect your Blackberry via USB to your laptop and use it’s internet connection. If you get an unlimited internet plan from your cell phone provider – this is essentially free internet wherever there’s a signal. If your provider gives you 1GB per month or similar (..and your probably finding your not using it all anyway) you can tap into that for quick email checks and save paying Starbucks any cash.
This works with any provider.. but some require a different config than others, but this software very much simplifies the whole process. This entire process can work easily with a mac or a PC, with windows 7, windows 98, windows 2000, even a server your troubleshooting somewhere that needs a patch or an update… Just brilliant! It’s your swiss army knife, and $25 could easily save your bacon one day even if you don’t need it today…
Download Blackberry Internet Sharing “tetherberry” today.

ATT & TMobile Go Head To Head on Amazon
Written by sonic on January 8, 2010 – 3:36 pm -What surprises me that ATT & Tmobile are both offering the phone at the current moment for the same price, $49.99. What’s different is that AT&T seem to offer their services at a minimum of $45.00 per month – and Tmobile is offering theirs at $39 unlimited… Tmobile seems to have a simpler easier to understand packages and plans and AT&T is a challenge to read up on to know what your getting with all their provisos and extras.
Keep your eye out on these though, I noticed before the holidays, AT&T was offering theirs up for a buck with signup… but truthfully, what good is a buck of the dataplan sucks?

GelaSkins – Special Blackberry Bold 9700 Skins
Written by sonic on January 6, 2010 – 6:16 pm -

Blackberry Bold 9700 Skins With Matching Themes From GelaSkins

Probably nothing cooler than having something no one else you know in your circle of friends has! This would be one of those purchases. Not only does it make your unit much more unique than your next door neighbors, but it also protects the surface from scratches, and supports independent artists who design these packages. Very nice indeed! No blog about Blackberries would be complete without mentioning these interesting designs.
Keep in mind that this concept is a much wiser alternative to actually pulling apart your blackberry and putting custom colored plastic pieces on that void the warranty and ruin your resale-ability and wreak havoc on your chances of getting any repair by the carrier or manufacturer. These mods make you the coolest guy around and still protect your investment… At $600+ USD, it’s not exactly something I’d go modding myself without considering the loss of that money.
You can browse their entire selection by visiting their website.
