Bejeweled for the Bold 9700
Written by sonic on January 11, 2010 – 11:11 pm -
Easily argued as one of the best games to play with a trackpad.. Bejeweled gives some kind of strange and sickly twisted rush when casually flicking the track pad from right to left as you complete a series of 3 shapes. Not only does it flow so nice and sweetly, but it’s a great way to pass the time and won’t leave you frustrated and upset at yourself due to the lack of control that a non-trackball device can sometimes leave you.
I genuinely believe that Bejeweled may very well be the best Bold 9700 game on the market at the moment. It’s one of the few worth paying for. The arcade modes, the advanced levels and the graphics even look better on the Bold 9700 version than on the iPhone version. (iPhone version pictured to the right..).
Download Bejeweled for the Bold 9700 Today!
They have the OTA option there too via SMS to most carriers.

ATT & TMobile Go Head To Head on Amazon
Written by sonic on January 8, 2010 – 3:36 pm -What surprises me that ATT & Tmobile are both offering the phone at the current moment for the same price, $49.99. What’s different is that AT&T seem to offer their services at a minimum of $45.00 per month – and Tmobile is offering theirs at $39 unlimited… Tmobile seems to have a simpler easier to understand packages and plans and AT&T is a challenge to read up on to know what your getting with all their provisos and extras.
Keep your eye out on these though, I noticed before the holidays, AT&T was offering theirs up for a buck with signup… but truthfully, what good is a buck of the dataplan sucks?

Crackberry Wallpaper Maker For Blackberries
Written by admin on December 16, 2009 – 11:47 am -There’s a totally free tool out there on Crackberry that lets you create your own wallpapers really super easy (if you know how to use it).
Did you know this thing existed?

This tool sadly, is very frustrating initially, but once you understand how it works (And their instructions are very vague) it’s really a blessing!
Here’s the gyst.. Select a high resolution graphic you want as your wallpaper, upload it and go to the next screen. Here you’re presented with a grey box with your graphic inside it. Check the checkbox below that says “keep aspect ratio” or otherwise the graphic will squish or squeeze to the wrong proportions and look weird.
Then, play with your zoom level to get the right size you’re looking for… And finally, double click in the middle of the graphic and line up the rectangular outline you can see displayed over your picture until it outlines the background you wish to have. Pretty cool eh?

Bold 9700 – Warning before .351 Upgrade
Written by admin on December 3, 2009 – 1:42 pm -I’m on rogers wireless and just this morning, while syncing up with my blackberry via the Desktop Manager to upload those christmas wallpapers I shared here, I got prompted for an upgrade…
Since doing that upgrade, Gmail needed it’s user/pass re-entered… Ah so what.
But.. I went to check all my news sources via Viigo My most favorite blackberry program, and boom! It shut off radio (Wifi/Edge/3G) and froze! I gave it a few minutes but no dice…
Then I rebooted and was surfing around and thought, ah I still wanna check the news, so I hit up Viigo again! Froze… this time just plain froze up… Gave it about 10 minutes and again no dice!
I’ll try re-installing Viigo now but if that doesn’t work I’m going to be trying to find some way to go back to the old OS 5.0 it shipped with because I need my news!

The Bold 9700 First Impressions
Written by admin on November 26, 2009 – 11:28 am -
The Bold 9700 Fresh out of the box.
Last week, when I first got this phone, It was a surprise and a blessing. It came 3 weeks late, but I was happy to have it regardless. I was almost ready to cancel the order actually, thinking it was never going to come.
The battery cover door was really frustrating at first, but then after opening it about 3 times, it can now be done with one hand. Operating system 5.0 doesn’t appear any different at first glance, but the upgrades are some-what under the skin and un-noticible until your looking for them.
Upgrades like the calendar, changing the date spins just like an iPhone. Changing the time on the clock spins like an iPhone and I can prove the browser is upgraded from previous in some very dramatic ways on OS 5.0.
For example – My blog loads all of it’s CSS and twice as fast. Bookmarks now ask you how you’d like to bookmark them (With options to have Java off when you visit that page, to show yourself as IE, Firefox or Blackberry Browser) all phenomenally useful if you’ve ever had sites that just wouldn’t load right for you.
I was a little bothered by the charging jack being made smaller, forcing me to use new accessories instead of the old ones in my car, house and office… But that’s progress I guess. It now uses a Mini-USB which is a bit smaller than the original blackberry charging jack they’ve been using for like 8+ years on the old Bberries. I believe this is something invented by Motorola, but I’d have to check.
The trackpad is genuinely a remarkable experience, kind of like using an iPhone although it is pretty hyper sensitive, it takes a bit of getting used to but it’s very responsive.
I’ll Write more on my review of the phone later.
