About
I’m an internet marketer by trade, that’s how I earn my living. Years ago, I started my blackberry experience with an old Blackberry 8800 series (cant remember the model) and it was a dream. Instant access to some web and all my email right in the palm of my hand. I became addicted.
Although, with it’s not-so-pretty look & feel, back then they were still corporate devices and nothing to show off to your friends…
Thus for years I continued my primary phoning thru a Motorola Razor, which quickly faded as it’s battery life drained within 5 hours of use each day. At some point, for over a year I used an HTC TYTN as my primary email/phone/PDA as it had more features than you could shake a stick at… But the white-screen fade and battery drain also got on my nerves again…
In around 2008, I got my first Blackberry Curve, which at the time was truly state of the art. It had GPS, WIFI and a really nice browser and look/feel. Everything I needed in one convenient place… But I soon upgraded to a Bold 9000 which became the first phone in my history that I ever kept longer than a year…
As days and months passed, I reviewed a few of the newer devices coming on the market that claimed to better than the Bold 9000, but I was continually frustrated…
Finally, when I heard about the Bold 9700 “aka onyx” coming around, I saw it’s specs and knew I was in love before it ever touched my hand…. Rogers really dropped the ball and delivered it 2 weeks later than promised, but when I finally got it, within a few hours I knew I’d found my dream phone.
Granted, it’s smaller but that hasn’t bothered me, even with 2 years Bold 9000 experience, I still find the keyboard to be a non-issue. Granted, it’s battery cover is a pain, but you get the hang of it rather quickly… The trackpad can be a blessing and a curse, but it’s overall use is really well designed and a joy to use.
Careful which themes you install though or it’s speed and luster die off as quick as any other device would.
